Hoop Time

BASKETBALL

On Wednesday 4 September a group of year 5/6 boys and girls competed in hoop time, a basketball competition. There were three different teams.  A year 5 boys team, a year 6 boys team and a year 5/6 girls team.

Year 5 Boys: The Year 5 boys had five games. The first game they did an amazing job by winning, the next four games they lost but tried their best by working together and having lots of fun. They cheered for all the other teams and supported each other.

Year 6 Boys: The year 6 boys did a fantastic job even though they lost all their games, they still tried their very best. They had great teamwork passing the ball to each other, as well as cheering for their team, they also cheered for the other HR teams.

Year 5/6 Girls: The girls team did an amazing job and out of the four games lost one, tied another and won two. Overall they came third. They worked hard and played excellent games. They demonstrated great teamwork by passing the ball to each other and supporting their team mates.

Student Spotlight: Jobe Joyce

As mentioned in last week's newsletter, one of our talented students, Jobe, has been selected to represent the state - selected to play in School Sport Victoria’s (SSV) Under 12 boys’ netball team.

We can’t wait to follow his journey as he proudly represents the state and the Holy Rosary school community at the National tournament next week.

Congratulations on this amazing achievement.
