2025 - Pupil Free Days

As a part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring that all regional and rural students have access to outstanding Catholic schools we are partnering with our fifty-five system-schools across the Sandhurst Catholic Diocese to implement the very latest educational research into our classrooms. While some of our staff have studied these advancements in recent years, it is now time to ensure that all our teachers and allied staff have access to the highest quality information and teaching resources available, so that your child receives an outstanding school experience.

The ‘Magnify Sandhurst’ project represents a major investment in the educational experience of your child. We are partnering with five national and international organisations across the areas of neuroscience, literacy, the Victorian learning curriculum, the behaviour curriculum as well as individual professional coaching for our teachers. In a first of its kind experience, and in partnership with our peers across Sandhurst, we are determinedly committed that you and your child can experience the very best that education throughout Australia has to offer.

‘Magnify Sandhurst’ will launch in 2025 and to ensure that we can undertake the necessary professional learning with our staff we will be shifting our usual student-free days.

Lost Property Alert: Please Label Uniforms!

Our lost property bin is once again overflowing with unlabeled uniforms. To help us return items to their rightful owners, we kindly ask that you label all of your child’s clothing clearly.

Labeling helps us quickly match lost items with their owners and keeps our lost property system running smoothly. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your support!

Cobram Agricultural Show

The Annual Cobram Show is just around the corner.

We have attached a copy of the schedule for anyone still wanting to enter their own creations from home. There is something for everyone from cooking, Lego, Mailbox and Scarecrow building, the Aussie Painted Gumboot, needlework, creating bookmarks & cards, structural craft, photography, flowers – the list goes on.

Page 2 of the schedule has an index for quick reference. Please note that most sections in the Pavilion have a Junior section. It is important to read the conditions of entry carefully; especially when exhibits are due to the Pavilion to avoid disappointment. HAVE FUN!!!

If you are attending the Show next weekend, be sure to visit the Art/ Craft Pavilion, to have a look at the amazing exhibits students have created at school throughout the year. The students have also written some awesome stories and poems, which will be displayed in the Writing Section. They get a buzz out of seeing their work on display; giving them a moment to shine and share their efforts with you. Thank you to the teachers for their efforts in encouraging and providing the students with the opportunity to enter their work. We also thank the volunteers, who spend countless hours pre-show organising and displaying the exhibits. Thank you everyone and enjoy.

21-27 October

National Water Week is celebrated during October each year across Australia.

National Water Week inspires individuals, communities, and organisations to build awareness around the value of water and the need to conserve water as a precious resource that brings life and prosperity to our region.

Access to clean water is hugely important to our daily lives, and it’s down to all of us to protect our water environments and resources and use water wisely.

Please use this opportunity to chat to your children about using water wisely. Or ask them what they may have learned about conserving the use of water e.g not running the tap when brushing teeth, using half flushes, using a bucket and sponge when washing the car etc.

We will announce the winners of Goulburn Valley Water’s Water Week competition in our next issue of The Word.
