DEVOTION

Last Sunday we had the Installation and Blessing of our Living Waters staff at Alice Springs Lutheran Church. It was a special opportunity to welcome new staff member James Wilkes and encourage all our staff in their work for 2024. 

Our focus reading was Isaiah 40:30-31, ‘Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.’

Eagles are incredible creatures. They are strong and beautiful, especially in full flight. They have powerful eyesight and can spot prey up to three kilometres away. They are also very committed to their young. 

This last attributed makes me think of our staff, who I know are committed to the growth and nurture of their students. They also work hard to bring a positive and godly perspective to everything they do. I can’t speak for their eyesight or their hunting ability!

We want Living Waters to be a place where staff, students and families work together. God promises that when we do this and put our hope in him, he provides the strength to soar. May he bless your family with strength and encouragement for the year ahead.
