Student Learning Culture and Growth
As we conclude the end of HeadStart, I would like to thank the students for engaging in the learning program with renewed energy for the past two weeks and to commence their new classes and subjects with enthusiasm. Without the preparation from our teaching staff, the delivery of such programs would not be possible and the College is appreciative of their hard work during the past weeks to complete both lesson preparation and report writing.
On Thursday 30th November, our College Community came together at the West Gippsland Arts Centre for our Marist-Sion College’s 2023 Presentation Evening - An Evening of Excellence.
The evening was held to recognise and celebrate the talents and achievements of our students, who have made an immense contribution to our school and our community. Our students exhibit such qualities that will not only help them in achieving their goals, but also epitomises pride in learning and demonstrates significant growth as a student at Marist-Sion College.
Our Evening of Excellence recognised those students who have performed exceptionally well across many facets of College life, their commitment to personal growth and academic pursuits, and also to honour those students who excelled in Applied Learning, Sports, Performing Arts and students who have lead by example in the recognition of the Special Awards category. The evening also provided the opportunity for our College Principal, Lisa Harkin to announce the staff awards, and acknowledge their commitment to the teaching profession in the presence of our College Community.
Our audience was also witness to some amazing talents through the captivating performances by the Concert Band, the Junior Dance Group, the Senior Choir and Stage Band. Performing alongside some of their teachers demonstrated the strength and mentorship offered through being a member of such programs within the College.
