What's been happening this week?

WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Carols Night is always a highlight of the year and last Monday was nothing short of that.  A beautiful tradition, where the Green is filled with families, all things Christmas and wonderful performances by all our students.  Thank you to our wonder PFA for running a scrumptious sausage sizzle and potato bake!

PREMIERS READING CHALLENGE

Congratulations to all our students who entered The Premiers Reading Challenge this year.  All the participants were presented their certificates yesterday.  What a great achievement!

MARKET DAY

What a fantastic effort by our grade 5/6s today!  The market was a huge success.  Sell out stores, happy customers and a lot of money raised for their chosen charity, Cancer Council!

JUST KEEP SWIMMING

At swimming this week there has been a strong focus on safety. Rescues were completed with ropes, life jackets were a strong focus and one group looked at resuscitation. Familiarisation in deep water for less confident swimmers also featured. A variety of safe entries were also introduced and several students improved their diving skills.

Overall, the improvements in the pool have been clearly visible. Very proud of how the students have responded and tried their best.

Friday is fun day which will include opportunities to use the diving boards under the supervision of their swim teachers.

Thanks for supporting your child/children by washing them, washing their swimming gear, helping them to remember to bring swimming items and making sure they had enough to eat.

END OF YEAR PREP CELEBRATION

It was smiles all round for our excited Preps finishing the year off with a fun excursion to the park where it was playgrounds and pizzas!

MATHS GAMES DAY

Last week Box Hill North Primary took two teams to participate in a Maths Games Day at Blackburn High School. Our teams competed against other schools, playing a variety of challenging games. Each time our students won a game they collected a token. At the end of the day each team counted the tokens they had won. We were excited to have one of our teams win second place overall and receive some cool prizes! The eight students who represented our school, demonstrated amazing, creativity, collaboration and persistence and should feel very proud of their efforts! We can't wait to host the next games day at our school in 2024!
