Environment Club News

Specialist recycling facilities are available at EDSC

We set up recycling boxes for pens, empty whiteout containers and markers in The John Landy Centre, 400 Open Area and Library. It would be appreciated if you drop them in those boxes when they are finished. The more kilos of pens we save from landfill, the more money we can win to improve our school environment.

In addition, please drop any batteries, bottlecaps, and bread tags you have used at school or at home, to the Library (instead of the general rubbish).

We also offer disposable

coffee cup recycling in the Main Admin Office Staffroom, The JLC and the 505-506 atrium. Please bring a reusable cup, but when you forget, make sure you recycle it and reduce waste to landfill.

Can you help the Environment Club?

Do you have old gardening equipment lying around your garage or shed? Shovels, wheelbarrows, or any other tools that could be put to good use? We kindly request that you consider donating them to EDSC.

Your generosity will provide our students with valuable opportunities to develop essential life skills and learn about the wonders of nature. By working with the soil, planting seeds, and tending to plants, they will not only gain a deeper understanding of environmental stewardship but also foster a sense of responsibility and pride. Your support will help us cultivate their passion for gardening and encourage them to explore the beauty and benefits of growing their own food, and nurturing Indigenous plants.

If you have something you would like to donate, please email Nicola Ritchie at Nicola.Ritchie@education.vic.gov.au

Thank you for your kindness and support.
