Please leave your meals with Heather in the office before 3:10pm. Let her know if the meal needs to be refrigerated, and please mark clearly with FOOD BANK and the date.

For those who are new to the school, here is more information about our OHR Food Bank.

Over the past 15 years there has been a ‘Food Bank Roster’ in operation at OHR.  This is a roster of parents who have volunteered to provide a meal or snacks to a fellow school family during a time of need e.g. after the birth of a baby, during a time of illness or bereavement.

This is an amazing support service within our school community and we know families who have previously been recipients find it such an incredible help. Over the time we have provided around 500+ meals for families.

How does it work?

Anyone in the school community (including staff and parents) are welcome to call or email me as the Food Bank Coordinator if they think a family in our community may benefit from some practical support in the form of meals for a period of time. I will then send out an email to the school community. The email has a link to a roster, where you choose a day that suits you to cook a meal. You don't need to be a gourmet chef and you don’t have to volunteer each time. Anything you cook for your family will be appreciated by the recipient. Meals are left at the office in time for school pick up.

Thank you in advance for your support of this valuable service within our school community.  If you have any queries in regard to the Food Bank please feel welcome to contact me.
