Year 1Reflections
Dear Parents,
A big thank you for making our birthdays special! The children were beautiful, as always!
In Year 1, we're adjusting smoothly to our routines with positive attitudes. Our dojo rewards are working well and reinforcing positive behaviours in the classroom. Thank you for your support in bringing and swapping books for our readers.
Maths
This week, we delved into the fascinating world of numbers with exciting place value games. Through interactive activities and challenges, your children have been honing their understanding of the value of digits in numbers. From identifying the places of digits to mastering regrouping, they've been making great strides in their mathematical journey.
English
Through reading and writing, we've been diving into the world of conjunctions and compound sentences. Your children have been learning how to connect ideas using words like "because," "but,", "so” and “yet” to create more complex and cohesive sentences. They've been practicing crafting their own compound sentences and are already showing great improvement in their writing skills.
Topic
In our topic lessons, we've been exploring the concept of family and the different roles each member plays. Your children have been enthusiastically sharing stories about their families, discussing the responsibilities they have at home, and reflecting on the importance of supporting one another. It's been a wonderful opportunity for them to appreciate the diversity and strength of their family units.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.
