2024 Interhouse Cross Country

Parent Permission Required

Dear Parents/Carers

COLLEGE INTERHOUSE CROSS COUNTRY CARNIVAL

The College Interhouse Cross Country Carnival is being held on Thursday 28 March at Teralba Park. Following on from the Interhouse Swimming Carnival, this is another opportunity for the students to connect with each and continue to build on House spirit, as well as score points for their House. As well as competitive races, there is also a participation House walk, which promises to be a lot of fun. For your information, students do not have to nominate in advance for the competitive races; they can choose to run it on the day.

Please note that this event is a compulsory school event and no on-site supervision will be provided at school during this time. Upon returning to school from the Cross Country Carnival at approximately 1.00pm, the students will have a lunch break and then finish the term with an Easter Liturgy and assembly. School will conclude at the normal time of 3pm.

To ensure the day runs smoothly, the following expectations have been put in place:

  • Students are to wear their full sports uniform to school and go to Homeroom as normal at 8.25am for roll-marking.
  • Students are to bring their school hat, sunscreen, a water bottle and snacks;
  • There are no canteen facilities at the Park; however, there will be a sausage sizzle and drink stall available. Each item will be $2.50. Students will be required to bring cash to purchase these items. All funds raised will be donated to Project Compassion.
  • Students will have a decent lunch break when they return to school in the afternoon. They will also be able to purchase a sausage sizzle and drink during this time.
  • Students will be transported by bus to and from the venue; students do not have the option to make their own way to or from the venue.
  • There will be an opportunity for students to add some colour to their attire as a means of supporting their House (Heads of House will speak more to the students about this).
  • As this is a regular school day, the expectations around mobile phones, and uniform as pertaining to make-up and jewellery, still apply.

Please give permission for your child to attend the Mount Alvernia Interhouse Cross Country Carnival, including transportation by bus to and from Teralba Park. Instructions on how to grant permission for your child can be accessed via this Permissions & Reports Tile on MyMtA. Instructions can be found here. This permission needs to be completed by the end of the day on Friday 22 March

I look forward to seeing our students participating on the day, both on the course and on the sidelines, and having some fun on what is always a good day!

Kindest regards
