2024 Leadership Assembly
Our 2024 Student Leaders have been recognised twice over the last couple of weeks.
On Friday 16th February, they were lucky enough to be recognised by Mark Dreyfus KC MP when he presented them with their Leadership Award Certificates.
Mr Dreyfus addressed the students on the importance of great leadership and their vital role as leaders within the college community.
The students asked some fabulous questions which Mr Dreyfus answered thoroughly and the students found his responses interesting and engaging.
We thank Mr Dreyfus for taking the time to visit Cheltenham Secondary College.
Then on Monday 19th February at a whole college assembly, the leaders were introduced formally to the Chelt.Sec Community in front of their families and invited dignitaries.
Thank you to, Jenny Atta, Secretary of the Department of Education, Cr Jenna Davey-Burns, Mayor, Kingston City Council, and Susannah Bowen-Wheatley, School Council President who were in attendance to address the students and present them with their leadership badges.
Thank you also to the families of our leaders for coming along.
This student-led assembly was hosted by our MC's and College Captains Zoe and Anastasia and included the Welcome to Country by our Indigenous Leader Jade, speeches from our Wellbeing Leader Ethan and International Captain Andrew and a speech on behalf of all student leaders from our College Vice Captains, Charlotte and Darcy. It wouldn't be a Chelt.Sec assembly without musical performances from our Instrumental Music Program students and this time we were treated with performances from the Chelt.Songbirds accompanied by the 2023 Avenues Band and a duo performance from Ruby and Ramone.
Congratulations and good luck to all Student Leaders for a successful 2024.
