From the  Principal

Karen Roberts

Dear Families,

I am eager to share with you the significance of our core value of RESPECT. At Carnegie PS, respect is not merely a word; it is the very foundation upon which our school community stands. In this edition of our newsletter, I want to emphasise the importance of fostering a culture of respect among and between our staff, students, and the wider community.

‘Respect’ unites us and creates an environment where everyone feels valued, heard, and supported. Within the school walls, it's evident in the way our teachers engage with students, how students interact with one another, and the partnerships we form with our community. This mutual regard sets the stage for a positive and inclusive learning environment that nurtures growth, understanding, and empathy.

Amongst our staff, respect is the glue that binds our team together. Our educators are not only dedicated professionals but also individuals who deeply respect one another's expertise, ideas, and contributions. This camaraderie allows us to work collaboratively, constantly seeking innovative ways to enhance the learning experience for your children.

For our students, respect is an essential lesson they carry with them beyond the classroom. By fostering a culture of respect within our school, we are not only preparing them academically but also instilling values that will serve them well in all aspects of life. From the youngest learners to the graduating seniors, our goal is to shape individuals who treat others with kindness and consideration.

Beyond our school gates, we extend the principles of respect to our wider community. Engaging in open communication with parents, neighbours, and local businesses builds bridges that strengthen the foundation of our school. By demonstrating respect in all our interactions, we contribute to a positive and harmonious community that supports the growth and development of every child.

I invite each member of our Carnegie family to actively participate in promoting a culture of respect. Encourage conversations at home about the importance of treating others with kindness, listen to your child's experiences at school, and join us in community events that celebrate the diversity and uniqueness of our school family.

Thank you for entrusting us with the education and well-being of your children. Together, let's continue to make Carnegie a place where respect is not just a value, but a way of life.

With gratitude,

Karen Roberts
