Year 1 Highlight

Over the last couple of weeks in Maths, the Grade Ones have been practising their counting and engaging in hands-on activities with a focus on place value. Students have been working with different materials such as collections of straws and base-ten cubes and bundling them into groups of tens and ones. The students then count their groups of ten by skip counting! The kids have loved getting to know the other students in their class through partner tasks where students have the opportunity to practise writing two-digit numbers on whiteboards.
