Carlsruhe Annexe /

Main Campus - Year 4

It is hard to believe our first School term for 2024 is nearly to an end. The year 4 students have settled into the routines happily, both at the main campus and at Carlsruhe.  It has been pleasing to see that the students have capably taken on new responsibilities and approached our tasks positively and confidently, demonstrating an eagerness towards their learning in general.

They have really enjoyed using their chrome books for a variety of activities and continue to develop technology skills and learn about the different technical tools. It has been wonderful to see how well the students have taken on the responsibility of their chrome books by using them safely and appropriately during school time. They have ensured the chrome books have been fully charged ready to use and carefully placed on their tables. It is great to hear how much they are enjoying using the chrome books both at home and at school.

We have provided a variety of activities for the students to use at home if they would like to spend some time working on the following activities: touch typing, maths games, timetables.com, recording their books on their reading log in google docs, Woodend Primary School online library, writing stories & soundwaves spelling activities.

Thursday Carlsruhe activities

Last Thursday afternoon 4AI and 4LS had the pleasure of starting their Carlsruhe rotational activitiesThe students enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the following activities: cooking, gardening, woodwork, calligraphy, weaving & craft.

Over the next few weeks (check for some day changes) the students will continue to take part in 6 different activities which they will rotate around over 6 weeks.

Each session, we require a minimum of 7 volunteers to help run this program so if you could out help with any of these activities that would be great.

Volunteers must have a current Working with Children Check which needs to be sighted and logged at the Woodend school office. If you are available to help, please let your class rep or child's teacher know as soon as possible.

A COMPASS note outlining the days has previously been sent out to 4AI and 4LS parents.

Helpers will need to be at the Carlsruhe Campus by 1:30 pm on the Thursdays, to have time to sign in and have an explanation of the activities.
