Principal's Report
Last Thursday Nicky Martin, our School Council President, presented Julie Pitts with a gift on behalf of the School Council, PFA and the Parents of Gardenvale. Julie absolutely loved the bench seat and thank you to Nicky for searching far and wide for the perfect gift.
YEAR 3 Working Bee
The Senior Campus looked spick and span after our Year 3 Working Bee on Sunday! Some of the tasks completed included weeding, cleaning drains, pruning, painting and mowing. Dimi and I are so grateful to all the parents and children that were able to help out. It is very gratifying to drive away from the school knowing everything looks so much nicer, cleaner and well cared for!
Thank you to the following school community members and families for helping to make our Senior Campus look extra neat and tidy: Ryan Abrahams, Lee Ajzenman, Leon Belobrov, Lisa Cohen Hyman, Marc Freeman, Daniel Goldman, Mimi Goldman, Jaz Gombe, Carolyn Gray, David Hyman, Tat Kamath, Shaheen Khan, Fran Labarca, Irene Lichomets (and Irene’s wonderful Mum - Rimma!) Liorah Levin, Leon Lopata and Dimi Sfetsas. Sincere apologies if your name is not on this list but we appreciate your help all the same!
School Disco
The School Disco was a highlight for our students last Friday night. The organisers and volunteers had spent hours planning and setting up for the event (amid threatening stormy weather!) for our children to enjoy a very special and fun night out. The Hall and surrounding spaces were a hub of activity and excitement. An event such as this requires many people to help to ensure everything runs smoothly. So thank you to everyone who pitched in and helped. A special thank you to the hard-working Prep and Year 2 parent organising teams, who made the whole event possible. The children had an absolute ball! Overseeing the events and the cleaning up was our ever smiling and hardworking PFA President, Robyn Krawitz. What a wonderful school community we have!
Division Athletics
Well done to the 28 students representing the Balaclava District at the Division Athletics Championship last Wednesday. All performed exceptionally well and 3 students Tahki (triple jump), Frankie (hurdles) and Annika (long jump) qualified for the regional finals that was held yesterday at Casey Fields. Congratulations to Tahki who finished 1st in his event and will now represent Gardenvale in the State Athletics Championships on Wednesday 6th November. Congratulations to all our athletes, we are very proud of your achievements.
Eureka Musical USB
We still have a limited supply of USBs for to you enjoy the Musical again and again! They are available to purchase at the Senior Campus office for $30 each.
Wishing all our families heading to Healesville for the inaugural ‘Gardenvale Family Getaway Weekend’ a fabulous time – the weather looks very promising!
