Leadership Board

At our school, the Leadership Board is not your typical prefect or student council program. Instead, it is an opportunity for students to drive meaningful change within our school community. To stand on the Leadership Board, you must be in Year 8 or above, and the position lasts for six months. What sets it apart is the requirement to take on a project, task or improvement that you want to accomplish during your term. Leadership here is about action, collaboration and making a difference—often with a small team of peers.

This year, we have had some remarkable projects. Here are a few highlights:

  • Paige and Levi organized our Global Leadership Summit, hosting two incredible conferences—one for Years 5-6 and another for Years 7-8. Over 400 students attended! They led teams in decorating, planning, food coordination and presentations, making each event a huge success.
  • Flynn and Tyla took on a sports portfolio, running a term-long house competition. Their initiative not only boosted house spirit but also encouraged more lunchtime activities and promoted healthy exercise among students.
  • Armi and Caleb ran our Mental Health Week campaign, which featured a photo competition where students captured images of things that bring them joy or calm. To wrap up the week, they surprised the entire secondary school with cupcakes, spreading awareness and positivity.
  • Zoe launched a girls' Bible study during lunchtime, creating a space for discussion, connection and learning. She has been passionate about providing resources and coordinating studies for the group, all while promoting it among her peers.
  • Tahnee has been working behind the scenes with a vision to bring more activities to lunchtime and recess. She has been working on creating large-sized game pieces to encourage fun and engagement during breaks. Stay tuned for her creations!
  • Avé took on the role of public relations this year, including starting a student-run Instagram account. She is often the go-to person when visitors come to our secondary school, helping to represent our student body with confidence.
  • Makenzie and Alice are working towards fundraising for Destiny Rescue, an organisation that fights human trafficking. They are currently making t-shirts to sell for Orange Day, with proceeds going to support women and children affected by sexual slavery and poverty in South Asia.

As you can see, these students are doing more than just setting a good example—they are making a real impact. Our Leadership Board is actively shaping the school culture and creating positive change. Well done to everyone who has taken on the challenge this year!
