Character First

During the upcoming Monday Assembly in Week 3 we will be introducing the new character trait, Discretion. Character First defines Discretion as 'recognising and avoiding words, actions, and attitudes that could have undesirable consequences'. Throughout this term we will be focusing on the below I will statements that help us apply discretion in every day situations. 

The 5 I Will statements are:

• I will think about what I am going to say and do.
• I will consider the consequences.
• I will check my attitude.
• I will practice good manners.
• I will learn from my mistakes and commit to doing better.

Year 6 Canberra Camp

The Year 6 Canberra Camp has had a successful start. In the first two days of camp students have already visited: Mount Ainslie; The National Museum of Australia; Parliament House; Museum of Australian Democracy National Electoral Education Centre and the Australian Institute of Sport. Bravehearts-Ditto's Keep Safe Adventure Show

We are pleased to be able to again offer our students from Kinder to Year 2 the opportunity to experience Bravehearts’ personal safety education program Ditto’s Keep Safe Adventure Show on Wednesday 30th October in the JILOA Centre.

There will be two sessions:

• 11.30am for students in Kinder/Prep
• 12.10pm for students in Year 1/2

Parents of students in Kinder to Year 2 are welcome to attend the Bravehearts presentations.

Scholastic Book Club

We have sent home a copy of the latest Scholastic Book Club catalogue with all students.  If you do not receive a catalogue, and would like one, please come and visit us at the school office.  Alternatively you can view the catalogue online here.

Parents please note: whilst the book clubs offer you the opportunity to purchase top quality books at great prices, as well as allowing us to expand our resources, you are under no obligation to purchase items.

Celebrating Students

Each week at our Friday assembly we love to celebrate our students. We would love to hear from you if your child has achieved something significant over the weekend during sporting events, dancing, baptisms, theatre, music achievements etc.
