Year 7 & 8

Term four is here and is already in full swing with a number of things happening around the college which has been fantastic to see. Our Spring Concert was held on the 15th of October. Performances ranged from woodwind, to violin, to drums, vocals, jazz ensembles and various bands. We had approximately eighty students performing for a packed house. It was a wonderful night of celebration of our student accomplishments and the progress of the music program which is going from strength to strength. Congratulations to Ms Heather Allan and the instrumental music staff for putting on such an event. Earlier that same day we also invited a few of the local primary schools to a special matinee performance.

Thank you Lalor East Primary School, Thomastown East Primary School, and Lalor North Primary School for coming along and supporting our students and instrumental program. We hope you enjoyed the show!

Term four for the junior school means mainly one thing, transition. Lalor Secondary College is looking forward to welcoming its newest group of students this term and plans are already underway. During term four, a key group of staff will be visiting our local primary schools to meet and greet our students and answer any important questions they have. In addition to this there are three important dates coming up this term to be aware of.

Our ‘Getting to Know You’ day is held on Wednesday the 6th of November where prospective students will visit the college to undertake of essential testing.  The year 7 information evening for our transitioning students will be held on Tuesday the 26th of November, which will be our first opportunity to speak directly to the families of our new arrivals. Our Pre-Orientation Day will be held on Friday the 6th of December where a small group of students will explore the college and familiarize themselves with it for the first time. And finally, Statewide Transition Day is on Tuesday the 10th of December where we will welcome our entire 2025 year 7 cohort to the school for the first time.
