School News and Information
STAGE 3 NEWS:
This week, Year 6 spent the day at the UNE ‘Farout Science Day’. The aim of the day was to increase awareness of science in all its diversity with many subjects available for study across a wide range of possible careers. The students met current UNE students, as well as academics and researchers, which will hopefully inspire our children to continue with their science studies at university. In particular, the children were involved in activities such as investigating the light spectrum and conducting forensic investigations with fingerprints and substances. The day was definitely an interesting and fun look at Science!
While Year 6 were embracing their inner scientist, Year 5 started to design their Year 6 shirts for next year. I was impressed with the range of creative and unique ideas that they used to create their shirts. The children will vote for their favourite design on FRIDAY.
