BGKLLEN Childcare Expo:

The third in the series of Childcare events was held at Sandringham Secondary College, on Thursday 24th July. A number of our students who are either completing a VET Childcare certificate or who are investigating Childcare as a future pathways option, attended the Expo. The students came away with lots of information about the childcare industry and potential future employers. Thanks, once again, to BGKLLEN for arranging the transport and organising a wonderful event for our students to attend.

Year 11 VCE VM First Aid training:

All of the Year 11 VCE VM students had the opportunity to complete their First Aid certificate on Tuesday 29th July. This is an ideal certificate for the students to obtain, to add to their resumes and to use in emergencies in the workplace. The trainers were very impressed with the students first aid knowledge and the resilience shown on the day. Congratulations to all the students on successfully achieving your First Aid certificate.

Year 12 VCE VM ‘Social Awareness Lesson Presentation’:

To meet the VCE VM PDS outcomes, the Year 12 VCE VM students created a lesson for a junior class on elements such as empathy, communication skills, perception, non-verbal communication skills, teamwork and leadership.

The students, in teams, presented their lessons to 8F and 7A. A huge thank you to the students for coming into our classrooms, to help our Year 12 students. The Year 12s had fun as well!

Feedback from the junior students:

‘It was super fun.’

‘I liked the story and having other people practice their listening.’

‘I liked working with the Year 12s and seeing their classroom.’

‘I enjoyed how confident you were and that you explained things carefully.’

‘I learnt how hard it is to play and not speak at the same time.’
