FRENCH

While working on Provence and lavender with our Year 9 French classes, we wanted to share with our students the atmosphere and smells of South of France.

The lavender workshop from Mademoiselle Organic was the perfect choice to make our students travel to Provence and appreciate the organic ingredients such as lavender, jojoba, cedarwood and frankincense oils.

Students were delighted to create their own roll-on and lavender bag.

It became also a sensory experience as well as a Wellbeing one.

Students were also happy to participate in eco-conscious education with compostable materials and organic products.

FRENCH BIC COMPETITION

And we did it again!

With the help of Katarina Marshall, Senior Brand Manager at BIC Australia and New Zealand, Year 8 French students have been creating their own 4-colour BIC pen, after researching the History of the French brand and its founder Marcel Bich which improved László Biró's ballpoint design and launches his own pen under the BIC® brand.

Zoe Walwisch, in 8 G, is the winner of the competition due to a very clear BIC logo and vivid colours as well as French items such as croissant, baguette and Eiffel Tower.

Through this competition, students have learnt that a language is always related to culture, that languages open you doors and give you job opportunities.

Speaking another language than English promotes you anywhere in the world and makes you a great candidate for international companies.

Just a small detail: we are the only school in Australia to do this…
