Year 9 Learning - Psychology

Term 3 has seen the introduction of a new option subject for our Year 9 students: Psychology. It is our hope that this subject will offer students some valuable insights into human thinking and behaviours and serve as an introduction for those considering further studies of Psychology at the Year 11/12 level. After an introduction on what the Bible has to say on the human mind, students have been exploring a wide variety of psychological concepts and experiments, including classical conditioning, developmental psychology and object permanence, mob mentality, and the Stanford Marshmallow Test. In the coming weeks, students will have scope to research a topic or researcher of their own choice in greater depth, with the opportunity to also plan and run an ethical psychology experiment in Term 4.
