Around The School

Exploring Green Screen in Media Arts - This week and next.
This week, the junior students rehearsed their version of a favourite fairy tale they have been creating this term. We're exploring green screen for its visual effects.
Our green uniform added a degree of difficulty and we discovered blue can also be a problem.
We will 'Take 2' next Tuesday, and children are encouraged to bring a spare outfit in their bags - just top and 'bottoms'.

Foundation Fire Ed.
The last two Wednesdays our Foundation students were very lucky to have some local firefighters come into school for Fire Ed Lessons. The students learnt all about fire safety including what firefighters do to help our community, the difference between good and bad fires and what to do if there is a fire at home. The students even got a chance to see inside a fire truck, have a go at spraying the hose and stand in front of the big fan.
The sessions were very engaging for our younger students and to say they had fun would be an understatement!
A big thank you to all the firefighters who came in to teach our youngest students the importance of fire safety
Year 5 SEED DAY
Grade 5 students recently had the exciting opportunity to experience what high school might look like by visiting St Patrick’s College, Loreto College and Damascus College. Throughout the visits, students explored different learning spaces and participated in a variety of activities and subjects, including woodwork, food technology, art, drama, science, maths and sport. The hands-on experiences gave them a glimpse into the opportunities and challenges of secondary school, while also building their confidence and curiosity about the next stage of their learning journey.
