Book Week

This year's Book Week dress up and parade, which was held yesterday, was an outstanding success. There were so many students, staff and even parents/guardians who put in a great deal of thought and effort into their character selection and subsequent costume that made the parade so enjoyable to watch.

There were minions, witches, dinosaurs, Wally, Candice Everdeen, Crayola crayons, astronauts and Charlie Brown - just to name a few of the wide variety of characters represented.

Thank you everyone for your efforts, and in particular Mr Cook for his wonderful coordination of the event and MC duties, which included his exceptional interviewing skills to draw out responses from of a range of the characters.

District Athletics

As I write this article our students have just headed off to the district athletics carnival. The weather is looking extremely favourable which will contribute to an exciting event for our students, especially our Year 4 first time competitors.

We wish all of our competing students the best for their events. Whole school and individual achievements will be celebrated further in next week's newsletter.

Glasses for Kids

The Glasses for Kids staff, including trained optometrists, will be visiting our school on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th October to conduct initial vision screening of students from Foundation to Year 3 who have completed the consent form and questionnaire, either online or in paper format.

Registrations close on Friday 12th September (end of week 8) and currently there are 18 students registered. The initiative is free for students to participate in, as long as consent is provided, therefore it is highly encouraged if there are any possible concerns regarding student vision.

If further information is required please refer to the information below or contact the school. Paper copies of the consent form and information brochure are available at the office if preferred.
