Student Services: Careers 

It’s hard to believe we are already over halfway through term 3. In week 3 all Year 11 students participated in a Careers workshop that focussed on creating their own unique personal brand for their career journey. Last week we had Regina from Head Start come and speak to VET students about the school-based apprenticeship program during their study session. Our Year 12s continue to research and apply for courses/opportunities for 2026, and families are reminded that the deadline for this process is end of term 3. Preparations for the Year 9 Morrisby program are also in full swing, with the profiling assessment scheduled for Tuesday September 9th.  

YEAR 9 MORRISBY PROGRAM  

All Year 9 students have the opportunity to participate in the Morrisby ‘My Career Insights’ program. MORRISBY (My Career Insights) Assessment will be held on Tuesday 9th September during class time. Students will also have a meeting with Careers Practitioner to discuss their results in Term 4. This program is fully funded (no charge). 

PARENTS – Please ensure you complete the consent for this event on Compass – students without parental consent are not able to participate. 

If you are aware of a planned absence, school event clash or your young person will not be able to attend the session, please still consent to the event, but reach out to Booma (Careers Counsellor) using <Karen.Burgess@nhs.vic.edu.au> to receive instructions on how to complete the assessment remotely from home.  

CLASS OF 2025 – OH, THE PLACES YOU’LL GO !!  

Year 12s and families are reminded of the importance of researching and applying for their next steps. Students are working through their transition plans in Connect this term, and we are here to support with counselling as required. It’s a very busy term of assessments, but please remember that planning next steps is also vitally important.
