GRANDPARENTS AFTERNOON
On Friday 22nd May, grandparents are invited to visit their grandchild/ren’s classroom/s from 2.30 - 3.15pm. They can do some fun activities together and then they are welcome to visit our Book Fair until 4.00pm. Please meet at the office at 2.30pm to sign in.
START TIME
A reminder that students are not required at school until 8.40am, as this is when staff commence yard supervision.
TEACHING AND LEARNING
At one of our after-school meetings this week, our teaching teams (Prep, - Year6 and Specialists) shared some successes they have achieved. Most teams shared how they are implementing our new approach to teaching English, which matches the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model that all schools are required to implement. It was terrific to hear the successes our staff have achieved when teaching English to the students for two hours each day.
MOTHERS DAY
I hope all our mums have a great day on Sunday, as it’s a time to acknowledge and celebrate all the wonderful things they do.
INDUSTRIAL ACTION SUSPENDED
The Australian Education Union (AEU) has announced that proposed stop work action has been suspended. This means that the half-day planned stop work day for in the Geelong area will not take place.
GRADE 4-6 ATTITUDES TO SCHOOL SURVEY
These students will complete this annual survey between 11th May and 12th June. Please select the below link for further information.
ASSEMBLY
Our first whole-school Assembly for the term is next Friday from 2.30-3.00pm. Some Year 1, Year 3 and Year 5 students will share their learning and again we will be celebrating some of the achievements of our students.
GLASSES FOR KIDS (GFK)
Thanks to those parents/carers who completed the online consent form. Optometrists will be visiting the school on Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th May.
HAND, FOOT AND MOUTH
There have been two confirmed cases of Hand, Foot and Mouth in our school community. If your child has symptoms be seek medical support. Further information can be found by clicking here. Exclusion from school is required until all blisters have dried.
