PYP In Action

From our Foundation Team

This term the foundation students have been Inquiring into How We Organise Ourselves. This unit of inquiry has a focus on the interconnectedness of human-made systems and communities. Through our community speakers and Djila Tjarri stations the students explored what is a community and what is in my community. They were visited by Highton Fire Officers, a police officer, our crossing supervisor, Deakin medical students for the teddy bear’s hospital and parents that shared their role in the community. We celebrated the end of our unit with an excursion to Highton Reserve to explore local community facilities such as the bowls club, the tennis club, the library and the playground.

Our next unit of inquiry is How the World Works. We will explore the world of living things.
