Happy Mother’s Day

As Mother’s Day approaches, we want to celebrate the incredible mums and mother figures in our community who play such a vital role in nurturing and guiding our students. We encourage all our children to show their appreciation this year through a thoughtful gesture, a handmade card, or a simple hug to acknowledge the many sacrifices these special women make. We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our Parent Club volunteers for once again providing the Mother’s Day stall, giving our students the wonderful opportunity to select a gift for their loved ones. We wish all of our mothers a very Happy Mother’s Day and thank them for their love and dedication.

As we head into the middle of Term 2, our classroom projects and friendships are in full swing. To ensure your child doesn't miss out on these vital moments, we encourage families to schedule appointments or holidays outside of school hours whenever possible.

We understand that life is a juggle for parents and carers. If your child is well enough to attend, being in class with their peers is the best place for them.

Working Together

Please remember:

  • Daily Absences: If your child is unwell or must be absent, please notify on Compass
  • Extended Holidays: If your family holiday is four or more days during the school term, please inform the Principal via email (highton.ps@education.vic.gov.au).
  • Seek Support: If your child is having difficulty attending or feeling anxious about school, please speak with their Class Teacher or Mrs. Tait (Mental Health and Wellbeing Teacher).

Remember, attending school every day isn't just about the curriculum; it's about the "Every Day Counts" moments—the playground laughs and the "aha!" moments in class.
