ANZAC Day

In remembrance and respect, our students created ANZAC Day craft whilst reading books and listening to stories of our heroes. They also engaged in meaningful conversations about the courage, sacrifice, and mateship that define the ANZAC spirit.
This was a poignant tribute to those who served and are serving, ensuring the legacy of the fallen and current sacrifices continues to be honored by the generations of the future.
'At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them'
Lest we forget.
We are extremely proud of Benny & George, who were asked to read at the ANZAC service at Junee Reefs, both doing incredible, touching readings.
Mrs Margaret Drum, the Junee Reefs Ivor Hall Secretary (and former St Joseph's teacher) asked Benny to recite a poem called “Smilin Thru”. The poem was written by a soldier about a nurse with links to the Veteran Daisy 'Tootie' Keast, (whom the hall researched this year) and Benny delivered her story during the service yesterday.
George was asked to recite the Ode and also recited beautifully. Please enjoy listening to them.
They were wonderfully supported by some of our students and staff. Well done Joeys!
