We love seeing the students smiling faces every morning. It has been a busy start to the school year. During morning and afternoon circle time, the students have been working on identifying the zone of regulation they are in and explaining why they are in that zone. We have started to establish many positive relationships with students and learning new school routines.
Thank you to all the families that came to meet their child's teacher this week. It was lovely to have conversations about some common learning goals and get to know you and your child better.

Water bottles
We are having a lot of hot days at school and there are lots of ways to stay cool. Don't forget to hydrate by bringing a water bottle to school.
During Literacy sessions, we have started talking about persuasive writing. We have learned to form opinions about different topics and give reasons to support them. The students have also worked on asking and answering questions about the text using higher order thinking questions using the Question Matrix.

During Numeracy sessions, we have explored 2D shapes and 3D objects by building nets, exploring symmetry and understanding properties (faces, edges, vertices) of different shapes.

This week we have looked at Emotional Literacy in our SEL sessions. This means, understanding and identifying the language of emotions and discussing possible scenarios for when you may feel different emotions.
We have also started our eSMART learning. We have talked about cyber safety and how to be an upstander, not a bystander. Throughout this term, we will be looking at the impacts of cyberbullying and how to prevent it.
The teachers are very excited to announce our award winners for our school values. Please join our whole school assembly on Friday to celebrate this weeks recipients.
