Principal's Report

Issue No 37 - 11 December 2024

Term 4 - Week 10

Principal’s Report

Advent

The third week of Advent we remember the gift of joy we have in Christ. We remember the joy that Mary felt when the angel Gabriel told her that a special child would be born to her - a child who would save and deliver all people. Joy is the gift we all receive from the unconditional love Christ has for us.

Advent Prayer of Joy

Loving God, we thank you for the joy you bring us.

Help us prepare our hearts for the Lord’s coming by helping us see that Christ came for every person we meet wherever we go.

We ask this in the name of the one born in Bethlehem, Jesus our Lord.

Amen

Assembly Presentation - Grade 2

I sincerely thank the grade 2 students and teachers for their presentation on Monday of the Christmas Nativity.  It was an excellent meaningful experience, including a lamb, a baby and violinist.

 St Kilian’s School Christmas Appeal

Our ’Angel Tree’ is filling up. Thank you families for your donations. Your kindness is truly amazing! Please continue your donations to Vinnies via our tree.

 School Staffing

The class teachers for the 2025 year have been set, with the students finding out yesterday who their teachers are during their Orientation session. This is a very anxious yet exciting time for both staff and students as they prepare to experience what 2025 holds for them.  Managing the placement of students in classes for 2025 is a complex and time consuming process. What is assured is the genuine care and consideration the staff and school take for every student when placing them in classes for the following year, with the hope that they flourish and reach their full potential in all aspects of schooling. Parents, you play an important role in ensuring you provide the hope and enthusiasm for the year to come for your child; having a positive attitude will help your child dismiss any concerns or worries they may have.

Please note the information shared on Monday, Sharee Whiteacre has been seconded to St Peter's Primary School as Deputy Principal for Terms 1 and 2 in 2025. Therefore the grade 4 classroom will be taught by Carolyn Maher whilst the advertising of a part-time position occurs. Updates will be provided to families once the appropriate processes have taken place.
