Principal's Report

 - Tania Sorbello

Wow! We made it to the end of Term 4!!  Thank you to our wonderful staff, students and community for another outstanding year. We are so proud of the academic and social achievements of our students this year and can’t wait to celebrate even more wonderful successes in 2025 and beyond.

Congratulations to our 2025 JSC Executive Team

A huge congratulations to our 2025 JSC Executive Team who have now been announced. After a gruelling process of preparing and presenting speeches to their peers and teachers, it was a painstaking task to move from the extensive number of applicants for the positions down the seven leaders who will represent our school as the JSC Exec group in 2025. A huge congratulations to all of the students who applied, and I can’t wait to find out who will take on the other leadership positions as we move into the new year.

Our 2025 JSC Executive Group are (from left to right):

Alfie, Hugh, Izzy, Harper, Hazel, Anna and Eva. Congratulations again!!

Grade 6 Graduation

It’s that time of year where we farewell our outgoing Year 6 cohort. This cohort have brought so much to FNPS throughout their journey and, whilst farewells are always difficult, we are so proud of the strong, capable individuals they are becoming.

A huge thank you also to Brad, Hannah, Kathy and every teacher that came before them for their leadership and care for this wonderful bunch of individuals. They will certainly be missed.

Staffing News

This year we say farewell to our wonderful teachers Tristen, Paul and Angie. We wish them all a wonderful time in their new schools; supporting the learning of children and sharing in their schooling journey. We also would like to wish Sarah, Sam and Kathy all the best for their twelve-month roles – we can’t wait to hear about their adventures.

We are incredibly excited to welcome back Kathleen and Margaret to FNPS after their twelve-month sabbaticals throughout this year. You will also see some brand new faces here at FNPS in 2025. Next year we will welcome Molly W (Year 1/2), Brittany (Year 3/4), Abby (Year 5) (Year 5) and Nick (Year 6).

Finally, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Sormeh for sharing the past six months with us here at FNPS. The staff, students and community will miss the kindness, compassion and passion that Sormeh has bestowed upon us all and wish her all the very best for her return to Collingwood College.

Next year, we will welcome Erin Davies as our new Assistant Principal. Erin is an experienced AP, currently working at Mount Pleasant Road Primary School and, previously, at Camberwell Primary School. Make sure you give Erin and our other new faces a warm FNPS welcome when you see them in the yard.

Community Shout-outs

A huge shout out to our School Council who bring their passion for FNPS and personal expertise to our governing body. This group volunteer their time to support the continued growth of our school and are pivotal in the wonderful projects that are happening around the school. A very special thank you to our School Council President, Suzy Schmitz for her commitment and support of the school and for the countless hours she dedicates to making FNPS a wonderful, wonderful place to play, learn and grow.

To all of our other volunteers: from Fete, to classroom reading support, to excursions, incursions and camps, your dedication to your child/ren’s education really does support FNPS in being the amazing place to learn that it is.

Have a safe, relaxing and restorative summer break, everyone! May you be surrounded by love, laughter and the people that mean the most to you.

Go gently,

Tania
