STEM Report
Hello everyone and welcome to the final STEM report for 2024. I'd like to take this opportunity to say a big thankyou to all the support staff and helpers who have made the STEM program possible this year. Without them, delivering a fun and engaging STEM program would not be possible.
To all the students that attend STEM lessons every week... keep being curious, keep wondering, keep tinkering, and most of all keep your minds open to the world around you. Use these holidays as a time to explore. Explore your bedroom, explore your backyard, explore your neighbourhood. Try looking for bugs, build a cubby, create an invention or even keep a journal. Learning can happen anywhere if you leave your mind open to it.
As for term 4, what better way to finish the term off than with a showcase of our Grade Prep students' work. In this activity, students were given the opportunity to demonstrate a range of STEM based skills in a challenge to build a sandcastle. The task proved a great introduction to the design process, seeing students brainstorm ideas during the research stage, use their imagination during the design phase and then collaborate with a partner to make their designs come to life. Have a look at the results below.
I wish everyone a happy holiday season, stay safe and enjoy your time with family and friends. See you all in 2025!
