Year 2
Mont De Lancey Historic Homestead Excursion
Year 2 will visit Mont De Lancey Historic Homestead in Wandin North next week. 2J and 2BS will visit on Tuesday 30 April, and 2H and 2F on Friday 3 May. This excursion facilitates student interest in Life in the Past and supports our classroom program. The students will see the school house, chapel, working blacksmith, wood turner, machinery shed, the homestead and historic gardens. Educators will take the children and their teachers through the property where they will have the opportunity to ask questions and investigate life in the olden days. They will participate in a lesson in the schoolhouse and use an old fashioned calligraphy pen and chalk to write. A chance to play games and use billy carts, as well as making lavender bags and lemonade, are also a part of this fantastic experience.
To add to the experience, all staff, students and parent volunteers attending are encouraged to dress up in "olden days clothes" on the excursion day.
Parent helpers who have a current Working with Children Check are required for this activity. Contact your child's teacher if you are available.
Excursion details are published on Compass. Consent and payment are due not later than TODAY, Friday 26 April. CSEF can be applied to this excursion.
