Spotlight on Learning - Room 10
English: Procedure Writing
In the Room 10 classroom, we are investigating different genres of writing. On Thursdays and Fridays, the students are diving into the world of procedure writing with Ms McWhinney. Procedure writing is an important skill, fostering both literacy and critical thinking. The students are delving into the intricacies of crafting clear, sequential instructions through cooking recipes. By brainstorming, drafting, and revising, they are learning to articulate steps logically and precisely, considering audience comprehension. This process not only enhances their writing abilities but also cultivates problem-solving and organisational skills. Engaging in procedure writing is empowering the Year 5/6 students to communicate effectively and navigate writing tasks with confidence.
