ART

Last term in Art, Grade 5 students studied the work of Henri Matisse and used various watercolour techniques to create a ‘leaf collage.’ Congratulations to Sahara for demonstrating her exemplary skills and knowledge in her final project assessment task. A special mention to Arlan and Remmi who also created well balanced, aesthetically pleasing compositions.

Last term in Art, Grade 6 students studied the work of environmental artist Andy Goldsworthy. Using the skills and knowledge they learned about Earth Art, balance, shape and photography, students created their own unique sculptures and photographs of their work. Congratulations to Henry for demonstrating his extensive understanding of these skills in his final project assessment task. A special mention to Maddie M and Kyan who also demonstrated an in-depth understanding in constructing their compositions.

BOOK FAIR

Every Scholastic Book Fair is packed with a multitude of genres, including fantasy, classics, reference, award-winners, humour, nonfiction and mystery. We believe the best selection encompasses books suitable for both girls and boys within each age group, captures their imaginations and excites them about reading.

This year's Holy Rosary Book Fair will be held on Thursday 9th May & Friday 10th May 3:00-4:00pm in the Rosarium.  Students will have been through to see what books spark their interest and then parents are welcome to come and purchase.

LIVE FROM THE LARYNX - 28th May Gr3-6

The Grade 3-6 classes will be enjoying Live from the Larynx on Tuesday 28th May for their music incurion. Live from the Larynx is an astounding amalgamation of beatboxing, sampling, mixing, multi-media, comedy and so much more. Tom is not a one man band, he’s a One Mouth Orchestra and by recording, looping and layering, what Tom creates in a matter of minutes is awe inspiring.

Tom Thum has an outstanding list of credits:-

Winner of the team battles in the World Beatbox Championships in 2005.

His TedEx appearance at the Sydney Opera House has over 79 Million views.

He has recently recorded with The HillTop Hoods, (124 million plays on Spotify and counting).

Tom has collaborated with Jamie MacDowell, and solo, Tom has recorded singles, Ep's and albums.
