ANZAC Day March - Thursday 25th April

St Edward’s students will once again join the Tamworth community in the ANZAC Day March on Thursday 25th April (last Thursday of school holidays).  We encourage as many K-6 students to join staff and represent our school in this march. Children are asked to wear full summer uniform (including hat) and meet the teachers at 9.30am in Bourke Street. At the conclusion of the march, all students can be collected from Number 1 Oval in Kable Avenue.  Thank you for your support of this important community event.  If your child/ren will be attending the march, please 'confirm' their attendance via the Compass Event on the parent portal.

School Uniform Changeover - Summer to Winter

All students may continue to wear their summer school uniform in Term 2.  The official date for changeover from summer to winter uniform is after the June long weekend (Tuesday 11th June).  However, if the weather turns chilly before this time students are allowed to wear their full school winter uniform. This includes a long sleeve shirt and tie. We ask that whichever uniform your child elects to wear, that they wear the full uniform correctly - please do not mix summer and winter uniform items. Thank you for your support with this.  Lowes stock all our new St Edward's uniforms, or we have good quality second hand uniforms in our clothing pool at eithercampus.

Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) - Kindergarten Students only

From May 2024, our school, along with thousands of others across the country, will participate in the Australian Early Development Census (AEDC). The AEDC is a teacher-completed census (similar to a questionnaire) which provides a comprehensive picture of how children have developed by the time they start their first year of full-time school. The AEDC is an Australian Government Initiative and is completed nationally every three years. Children don’t miss any class time while the AEDC is completed, and parents/carers don’t need to supply schools with any new information.  The data collected through the AEDC is used by schools, communities and governments to better understand children and families’ needs, and identify the services, resources and support they need.  AEDC data is reported at a school, community, state/territory and national level. AEDC results for individual children are not reported and the AEDC is not used as an individual diagnostic tool.  Participation in the AEDC is voluntary, however the AEDC relies on all schools with children in their first year of full-time school participating in the collection. Parents/carers don’t need to take any action unless they choose not to include their children in the census.

To find out more about the AEDC and how it is being used to help children and families visit: www.aedc.gov.au.
