LIBRARY NEWS

End of Term Return of Books

As we near the end of term, it is time to start returning borrowed library books. Students are welcome to borrow for the holidays but any books that have become overdue need to be returned before the end of term. Please chat with your child to find out if they know where their books are and remind them to return them to the school library.

Author in Residence - Cameron Stelzer

St Edward's is excited to welcome back Dr Cameron Stelzer in Week 2 next term. Dr Cameron Stelzer is an award winning self-publishing author and illustrator. He has been a full time author since 2004 and has been visiting schools to share his insights about writing and illustrating for well over 10 years.

Every grade will get an opportunity to have a visit from Cameron and selected students will get to participate in extension writing and illustrating. This is a very exciting opportunity for our school.

2024 Library Leaders

We would like to congratulate our Library Leaders for 2024. These amazing students volunteer their break times to ensure the library remains an organised and accessible space for all students to enjoy. Congratulations!!

NSW Premier's Reading Challenge

We are very excited to give the students at St Edward’s Primary School the opportunity to participate in the 2024 NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge. This is a proud tradition at St Edward’s and every student is invited wholeheartedly to participate.

Every student at the Infants Campus will automatically be signed up to the challenge and read books from the challenge as part of their class and library sessions.

Primary - WOW! We have had over 130 primary students sign up to participate in this years PRC.

Login details have been handed out to all primary students who are participating in this years challenge. If your child has not received their login details, please ask them to come and see Mrs Michell in the library or email cmichell@arm.catholic.edu.au

Students can start logging their books today using this link

https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/studentExperience.html#/

Students are encouraged to log onto the PRC website from home, or access the PRC site using the iPads in the library in their break time. Students should now start to log books they have read and also discover books that are part of the PRC using the link above. If you have any problems with logging books or access please reach out.

The Challenge runs until Friday 23rd August, 2024. Students can join at any time but the end date remains the same.

PLEASE NOTE!! Any books on the list that your child has read (or you have read to your child for K - 2) over the summer holidays can be counted for this year’s Challenge.
