Focus on Learning

Stage 3 - Mrs Amanda Bartholomew

English

At the end of last term, Stage 3 students planned, drafted and wrote ANZAC Day themed poems after learning about the significance of this day of remembrance for our nation. Students were able to choose from a set list of poetry structures to plan, draft, write their poems. Students then used Canva (a graphic design app) to publish their thought provoking poems. Here are some samples created by our students.

Flexible Learning In Action!

We all best learn in different ways. In Stage 3 we have flexibility in our learning spaces. When students are working independently they are able to choose how they best learn. Choices include:

The Watering Hole - where students work independently but in a small desk group of students.

A Cave - where students choose to work on their own in a chosen space in the classroom.

Here are some photos of students actively making a choice that best helps them learn and work productively.
