Kitchen Garden

On Monday afternoon 3S had their 4th session of Kitchen Garden. Activities for the session: Niki, Dustin, Holly and Aafeen used spades to dig, loosen and turn over the soil in the long garden bed. They even dug up some treasures - more potatoes! 

The next step will be adding fertiliser, manure and compost to nourish the soil. Quinn, Ava, Anastas and Joe planted orange and purple carrots and radish. Mason, Nethun, Olivia and Annabelle fed the lemon trees and rhubarb plants with sheep manure. They also picked some more dried bean pods. London, Macy, Evie and Vincent practiced using garden snips to trim the dried flowers from the herbs. Manu, Logan, Ruby, Cael and Sukhraj planted broccoli and cauliflower.

Everyone got to sample some red Fuji and Pink Lady apple slices from the apple trees in the garden.
