STEM

As the end of the first term quickly comes to a stop we have been as busy as ever in the STEM classroom.

Through government grants to rural and regional schools for STEM, we were able to borrow some kits from Science Play Kids for a number of weeks. Using these kits we held energy sticks and found out what electricity is, learnt what items in our house are conductors or insulators and discovered how to make complete circuits - the looks on some faces show just how amazing these revelations were!

This week we tested our design skills by building buildings, towers and cities using special cardboard connectors that enabled our visions to come to life. We will have one more week with the kits next term so the upper years students will be working on solving problems by creating solar powered circuits.
