After School Working Bee - Thursday 16th October
This coming Thursday (16th October) sees our final working bee for the year.
This will be taking place after school - from 3:30pm onwards.
With the longer evenings, we invite all SKiPPS families to meet us by the ropes playground straight after school/work for an hour or two to help us keep the school looking great.
Help required for our Pencil fence
One of the the favourite parts of our school is the colourful pencil fence that surrounds our school garden at the rear of the school.
After 14 years of rain, wind and being climbed all over, we have noticed that it is in need of some tender loving care.
Many of the vertical pencils have started to split and rot and are in need of replacing. This would involve unbolting and digging out the rotten pencils, concreting in new (treated) pencils and reattaching and painting them.
We have some spare pencils ready to go and are now looking for a few parents or friends who are handy and keen to take this job on.
If you think you could help out by taking this project on, then please reach out to Neil at neil.scott@education.vic.gov.au
Sushi Mondays - orders now open!
Families have the chance to order sushi for their students each Monday at Pranzo (1pm).
This order will be for sushi every Monday from 20 October - 8 December (No sushi on Melbourne Cup-eve Monday) so 7 weeks in total.
Order here: Term 4 Sushi Mondays
Orders close Friday 17 October 5pm - NO orders will be taken after this date
The Financial Support Option is available again this term, and we thank those in our SKIPPS Community who have contributed via 'Pay it forward' to make sushi accessible for all students.
Planning for 2026
We are well into the process of planning for next year, creating classes, employing staff and setting budgets for a successful 2026.
As our budget is determined by enrolment numbers, it is vital that we get an accurate picture of how many students we will have at SKiPPS at the start of next year.
If your Foundation - Year 5 child is going to be elsewhere next year, we would appreciate you letting us know as soon as possible.
Reminder- Student Free Day
Students will not be required at school on Monday 3rd November - Melbourne Cup Eve, the day before the Melbourne Cup Public Holiday.
If you require supervision for your child, please sign them up at Team Kids for the day.

SKiPPS School Fete 2026
We are looking foward to another fun-filled day for our students and families on Saturday 14 March 2026.
Our Fete Coordinator, Belinda Williams will need your help to make it a success!
If you’d like to be part of the team, please contact Belinda at belindawilliams@hotmail.com
Everyone is welcome to attend our next fete planning meeting at school on Thursday 16 October at 6 pm.
Biketober is a fun, friendly competition to get more students, parents and staff travelling actively to school. Schools and classes will compete to see which can get the most students travelling actively to school.
At SKiPPS, we will be running this competition in week two – from Monday 13th of October until Friday 17th of October. Each classroom teacher will record how students came to school for the week.
LET’S GET RIDING!!
