Discovery Day with St Paul’s Primary School

It was a pleasure to welcome St Paul’s Primary School back to Marian College for another Discovery Day on Friday, 10 August. Students and teachers had a fantastic time exploring different subjects and activities across the College.

In Science, students enjoyed hands on experiments, while in Woodwork they built creative scrap wood sculptures. The Food Technology room was a highlight, with everyone making and tasting delicious chocolate balls.

Students also spent time in the Resource Centre, browsing displays, reading, and completing puzzles. Teachers relaxed over a coffee from the VCafé, and students loved the freshly baked muffins.

Our Student Leaders and Primary School Alumnae were wonderful guides throughout the day, teaching students, answering their questions, and showcasing everything Marian has to offer.

It was a fun-filled day of learning, creativity, and discovery and we look forward to welcoming St Paul’s back again next year.

Transition Cluster Panel – Preparing for Year 7 in 2026

On Friday, 17 October, Marian College joined the Transition Cluster Panel hosted at St Theresa’s Primary School. The event brought together students from Mother of God, St Theresa’s, and Our Lady Of The Immaculate Conception to learn more about the secondary schools they will be attending in 2026.

Representatives from Marian College, Caroline Chisholm College, and Sunshine Secondary College participated, with student leaders answering questions about school life and the transition to Year 7. The session was expertly hosted by Greg Woolford, Family School Partnerships, St Theresa's Primary School, who guided the discussion through topics such as

  • Settling In.
  • Finding My Way Around.
  • Making Friends, Support and Bullying.
  • Homework and Organisation.
  • Discipline.
  • Teachers.
  • Workload and Learning.

Marian’s student representatives provided an excellent insight into life at Marian College, sharing their personal experiences and explaining how the school supports new students as they transition into secondary education.

To finish the session, primary students broke into groups based on their chosen secondary schools. This gave them the chance to meet future classmates, learn more about their new school community, and ask individual questions in a relaxed setting.

It was a fantastic and valuable event, helping to build excitement and confidence for students as they prepare for the next step in their learning journey.
