Welcome back to another term!
This week we were excited to welcome back old and new students, including those students and families returning from winter at Falls Creek. Welcome also to Maddie Ovens, who is replacing Hayley, while she is on leave. From next week Steph will also be on leave, and will be replaced by Naomi.
We have had a great start to the term and on Tuesday, our students had the opportunity to attend a very special presentation by renowned Australian indigenous recording artist Ash Dargan, who shared insights about culture throughout his presentation. Many thanks to the Alpine Shire for providing this unique learning experience.
Yesterday, the Year 3/4 class had a wonderful opportunity to speak on local radio, about their writing, particularly in relation to their entries into this year's Mount Beauty Writing Competition. Congratulations to all students on their presentaion and our thanks to Faye Mason, Kathryn and Angela for their roles in making this happen. A replay of the interview will be played on Saturday at 2pm (95.5FM), for anyone who missed the interview.
Tomorrow, Friday 10th October, qualifying students will head to the Regional Athletics Division finals in Wodonga. We wish these students all the very best and would like to thanks all families for their support with providing transport and supervision at this event. Thank you again to Steph for her organisation and also Kathryn, who will attend, as our cluster representative.
Due to the number of students attending the sports, there will be no assembly tomorrow.
The Rubiks Cube Club is returning! From next Monday, students are invited to join Jeremy at morning recess, in the undercover area, for a session of learning all the skills associated with mastering Rubiks cubing!
Next week, the first of our Prep transition activities will commence with a kindergarten PMP session with Dave. A PMP, or Perceptual Motor Program, is an early childhood program that develops a child's ability to perceive and understand their world through movement, connecting their sensory experiences to their motor skills. This program provides a valuable foundation for developing PE skills as well as turn taking and other important skills essential to learning. Students from the kinder, will visit the school from 9.30am to participate in the program.
