Principal's News

Where every child is known, challenged and supported to be lifelong learners.

Dear Parents and Friends,

It’s hard to believe we have already nearly finished our first week of Term 4! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday, spending time together as a family and catching up with friends.

Our children certainly enjoyed a wide variety of experiences over the break, from local adventures to the zoo, museums and parks, to travels across the state, interstate, and even overseas! They’ve come back full of stories and excitement to share.

Please make sure you read all communication from us so you stay up to date. The platforms we use are:

  • Audiri – for reminders and day-to-day events

  • Operoo – for permission forms and medical information

  • Email – for general communication

If you don’t yet have Audiri or Operoo on your phone, please download them. If you need help setting them up, please see Tracey in the office, she’ll be happy to assist.

All year-level newsletters will be sent out tomorrow (Friday). Please take the time to read these, as they contain important information relevant to your child’s class.

Colour Run

The most exciting (and colourful!) event of the term happens next Monday, 13th October, our Colour and Slime Run!

Don’t forget to get your donations in let’s try to beat last year’s total! Funds raised will go towards building new beach houses, as our old ones are well and truly ready for replacement.

Let’s get our tutus and funny hairstyles ready (no hair colour, please!) for an afternoon of fun and laughter.

  • If you’d like to be sprayed, please wear a white T-shirt.

  • If you prefer not to be sprayed, please wear a black T-shirt.

I wonder which teachers might be changing colour by the end of the day...!

School Uniform

Finally, the sun is starting to warm us after a long winter! This term, full summer uniform is to be worn including hats.

Our policy remains No Hat, No Play, which means students without a hat will need to stay under the verandahs.

Please remember:

  • Sports shoes are only to be worn on PE days (unless notified otherwise).

  • Hair should be neat — no extreme styles (e.g. shaved sides), and hair below the collar must be tied up.

  • Jewellery should be limited to small stud earrings and a necklace with a cross or religious symbol.

  • Nail polish must be clear only.

As the weather can still be unpredictable, winter uniform may be worn on colder days for the first two weeks of term and we will give you 2 weeks amnesty for hat.  We do have hats for sale through the school.  Just place your order via and CDFpay App.  Orders are filled each Monday morning.

Good Luck and Congratulations

A big congratulations to Isla Sh, Jasper, Alfie, and Jess, who represented St Brigid’s at the Kingston Division Athletics today! What an amazing achievement - we are so proud of you!

Next Thursday (16 October), I’ll be at Peanut Park at 8:15am (with one or two teachers) for any students, siblings, or parents who would like to join us to walk to school together. Let’s get moving!

Our final SAC meeting before the AGM will be held on Wednesday, 5th November at 7:.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Chairperson position will become vacant, as Allie (Luke, Yr 6) will be finishing up at St Brigid’s. If you’d like more information about the role, please contact me in the office or have a chat with Allie, who would be happy to answer any questions.
