Boarding

Welcome to Term 3, 2024!
In my first week as Head of Boarding at Kambala it has been my pleasure to meet the students and staff that make up the Kambala boarding family. My husband Jon is teaching in the Mathematics department and our daughter Makenzie has started in Year 9. We appreciate the welcome that has been extended to us by the school community. As a family we are excited to be part of the exciting journey that Kambala boarding is embarking on. On the first Tuesday of the term, we attended our first weekly formal dinner, and it was a valuable chance for me to see one of the important traditions that is central to boarding at Kambala.
The creation of our first prototype room in Fernbank has been met with enthusiasm and provides the opportunity for the girls to have input and give feedback on the look and functionality of the new rooms.
I am looking forward to working with both the outgoing and incoming boarding leaders to help provide avenues for student voice and choice in all aspects of the boarding experience.
The school has made a considered commitment to create a consolidated boarding facility that is modern, inviting and provides the best possible level of care for the students. Having all our boarding students in one house will help us foster a greater sense of community for all Boarders.

“Over the holidays I went back to Hong Kong and spent some time with family and friends. I really enjoyed reconnecting with many old friends I hadn't seen in a while. My Mum also surprised me with a girl's trip to Japan, this was very special to me since I have never travelled alone with her before. We got to spend some quality bonding time together which made the trip extremely memorable for me.” Rachel (Yr 10)
