Olympics Day - Tuesday 6th August
Hi ParentsOn Tuesday the 6th of August we will be holding an Olympics Day for students. Students will rotate through 4 different activities all with an Olympics theme. We are asking students to come to school with a splash of green and yellow in support of our Aussie athletes. Something like hair ribbons, wrist bands, shoelaces or other accessory items. Students will still be expected to wear their school uniform as usual. Unfortunately we are not inviting grown ups - this ones just for the kids. We will be having an athletics day later in the term if parents are looking for an opportunity to come and support their children competing in sporting events.
Thanks,
Lachlan Smith

MURDOCH DISTRICT PRIMARY SCHOOL SPORTS ASSOCIATION
SENIOR BASKETBALL COMPETITION – WEDNESDAY 28TH AUGUST
Dear Parents/Guardians,
The Murdoch Primary School Sports Association is reintroducing a Basketball Lightning Premiership for the Year 5 and 6 students on Wednesday 28th August.
The competition will be held at the Frankston Basketball Stadium. At this stage, the Murdoch District is unsure which Divisions will run and how many teams each school will be able to register.
The 3 divisions are:
- Top Pool – this is a competition for the higher skilled basketballers. There is a separate pool for Girls and Boys/Mixed. Like our other Lightning Premiership days, girls can play in a Boys/Mixed competition, but boys cannot play in a Girls competition. Schools will have training and trials to determine the most suitable players for this competition. The winner of each of these pools will represent the District at the Divisional Finals in Term 4.
- Mixed/Boys Pools –the remaining teams will be placed in the appropriate pools according to the advice from the PE teachers.
- Girls Pools –the remaining teams will be placed in the appropriate pools according to the advice from the PE teachers.
IMPORTANT: If schools are restricted with the number of teams they can enter, students will be selected on a basis of their skill level, teamwork, sportsmanship and behaviour.
