Hello Everyone,

Survey - WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CAREGIVERS / GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!

Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey and is seeking your feedback.

The survey, offered by the Department of Education, is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement.

We sent you an invitation to complete the survey via Compass and email on Monday 29th July. If you have misplaced this, please reach out and we can resend this invitation to you.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will remain open online untilFriday 30 August 2024.

Your opinions are important to us and will contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies. The department will use the results from the survey for research purposes and to improve outcomes for students.

The survey is being conducted online and only takes 20 minutes to complete. It can be completed on any internet enabled device (desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone) and is compatible with most browsers.

The survey is available in English and 10 other languages: Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. If you require assistance in another language, resources may be available for you.

If you are having trouble accessing the survey at home, there will be some iPads available at school for you to use. Some parents who are on our School Council will have them and be available to help you before the end of the school day, from around 3pm

This will start on Monday 5th August.

Should you have any questions about the survey, please see the office.

Volunteers

Should you wish to volunteer at any time during the school year, you must complete a Volunteer Induction Session. It is a requirement of the Victorian Education Department, that any volunteer be inducted into the school.

You will need to have a current Working With Children Check (the form to apply for one is available from the Post Office) and complete the school induction program annually (every year).

The Volunteer Induction Session for Term 3 will be held this Friday, August 2nd at 9.15am.

Hello everyone,

On Friday 26th of July our Foundation students celebrated 100 days of schooling. What an amazing achievement for our students!

The day was filled with reading stories, fun mathematics activities outside in the sunshine and a performance at our whole school assembly.

I visited the classrooms in the morning to personally congratulate our students and had the opportunity to ask them a few questions relating to their learning. It was lovely to hear from the students and see how proud they were of their personal achievements. They were excited to remind me that when they started school, they could not write their names and now they can write their name along with reading and writing many words!

Foundation is a rewarding year level to teach, as we can observe our students blossom and grow in their individual ways. The teachers are proud of their students and will continue to support every student to achieve their full potential. A holistic approach is important for students to feel safe and ready to learn, so I would also like to congratulate and thank the parents of all students but particularly our Foundation students. Your ongoing support and commitment continue to strengthen our school and home partnership.

Thank you,

                          100 Days BRIGHTER
