Primary District Athletics

The sun was out last Friday as MECS Primary students competed in the Montrose District Athletics carnival against 7 other local schools.

As always, our students competed hard and represented our school with grace and pride.

It was a successful carnival with many ribbons handed out to MECS students including a number who finished in the top 2 to represent our schools at the Eastern Metro Divisional Carnival next term.

Congratulations to all students who participated and to those that made it through to the next round.

Hoop Time

On Monday, 3 MECS teams represented our school at the Senior Hoop Time day against schools from our district. For the first time, we played at the impressive new State Basketball Centre in Wantirna.

Collectively, we lost only 2 games for the day where students showed their teamwork and basketball skills, winning some games by over 25 points.

We were also ably assisted by 5, Year 9 coaches who did an outstanding job running plays, making substitutions and getting themselves alongside our students to support and cheer them on across the day.

Whilst we didn't make the finals this year, our students came close and should hold their heads high after giving it their all across 4 games each.
