Performing Arts
Drama
This term in Performing Arts students are focusing on the wonderful world of Drama! Each year level is focusing on how to use their body, voices and expressions to act and portray different characters.
In Foundation, Level 1 and 2, we are working on acting out characters from different stories as well as practicing the art of miming and acting together. Students in Level 3 and 4 are busy learning scripts from different movies and acting them out in groups with props and costumes. In Level 5 and 6 we are busy writing scripts, with the Level 6’s script to be used as part of our end of year Whole School Concert!
State School Spectacular
This week, some of our Level 4 students travelled to the Melbourne Town Hall for the first combined rehearsal of the Mass Choir as part of this year’s Victorian State School Spectacular.
There, they began learning and hearing their songs as part of the choir which is made up of over 1000 students. Students got to hear what their singing part sounds like against the other and discovered just how amazing it is to be part of a choir that can sing in two-part harmony! Tickets for the two Spectacular shows went on sale on Monday.
If you would like to come along and see our wonderful students in action, tickets can be found at www.ticketek.com.au/spectacular
