Internet Safety Week at Sacred Heart Primary School

Sacred Heart Primary School is committed to helping students develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to be safe and respectful users of technology. This week students will explore and learn about how to stay safe online and will look at how to navigate the many different aspects of online content respectfully while also keeping themselves safe.

We are also aware that students’ online experiences often move seamlessly between school and home, and are therefore aiming to develop, with your support, a whole-of-community approach to keeping our students safe online.

We will be sharing a range of information, tips and resources for parents and carers from the eSafety Commissioner (https://www.esafety.gov.au) that you can use with your family to help create positive experiences for your children online. We encourage all parents and carers to keep an eye on our school newsletter, website and social media channels for information you can use to build your knowledge, skills and understanding of online safety.

At Sacred Heart Primary School we understand that supporting your child's wellbeing is a top priority. Our school is committed to working closely with parents and carers to create a nurturing environment for all students. We offer a range of support services and resources to help you navigate the challenges of parenting and to ensure your child thrives. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s classroom teacher or contact the Wellbeing leader Miss Marly Fountain to discuss any social or emotional support we can provide.

Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Your Best.

Our school values of Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Your Best are the foundation of our school community. These values guide everything we do, from the classroom to the playground.

Be Safe means taking care of ourselves and others. It means following our expectations, being aware of our surroundings, and helping to create a safe environment for everyone.

Be Respectful means treating others with kindness and consideration. It means listening to others, valuing different perspectives, and respecting the property and belongings of others.

Be Your Best means striving to achieve our goals and reach our full potential. It means trying our hardest, learning from our mistakes, and celebrating our successes.

Our blitz this fortnight is "Wear a hat in the Aussie sun, when you're outside playing and having FUN!"
